session 4
I am a very open out-spoken person so it is very natural for me to speak to people and have no problem feeling comfortable about leading the conversation. It never crossed my mind that everyone is not like me and can not express themselves as freely as I can. This concept is new for me to get a understanding of. I still have moments where I forget that not everyone is like me but my best friend reminds me often. With my best friend being a quiet and timid I have learned to be more understanding and allowing others to express how they feel without being judgemental. I own a family child care home facility and I believe that as a provider I deal with extremely different people and different personalities. I believe that you have to be a easy person to speak to and very understanding when dealing with families and their children. Being in the childcare business you have to come to the conclusion that complaints are going to come up. Being able to address the parents in a respectable way is very important but you have to know how to conduct business! Often times I have encountered parents that will hold things in instead of communicating and communicating with those parents are definately the hardest to commuicate with.

Where are sessions 2 and 3 ?
ReplyDeleteI added this question because in my years of working with children, parents and staff, I have seen staff members treat parents and other staff in this disrespectful manner. I want my students to realize how important and powerful giving respectful eye contact can be.Thanks for your thoughtful response.
